A Strava-connected virtual relay for Maurten and NN Running Team: four runners, a quarter marathon each, one team time on the leaderboard.
The brief
Maurten and NN Running Team created a Strava-based virtual race where four runners divided the marathon distance amongst themselves, each running a quarter marathon.
Runners could register in teams of four with friends and family, or sign up on their own and be placed in a team.
What we built
We created a web-based system with information about the challenge, where all runners could easily create accounts and create or join teams. Runners connected their accounts to Strava, so the system could fetch their running activities.
Once a team had all four participants’ results for the quarter marathon, the system calculated the team’s total time and the team entered the leaderboard.
